Regarding the archive data of ALOS-4/PALSAR-3, which went on sale on November 10, 2025, some images have unobservable areas and other problems. Please be sure to check and understand the following information before purchasing.

① Regarding the unobservable area (blind)
Regarding the ALOS-4/PALSAR-3 data, there is data that has a blind area as shown in the figure below. Regarding observation data in Japan, we describe the presence or absence of unobservable areas on the PLATFORM as much as possible, but there is currently no information necessary to determine the observations in overseas areas, and it is not possible to confirm the presence and location of unobservable areas in the data until you purchase the data.

② Browse images and masks for identifying unobservable areas
For data in Japan, browsing images are generated for most of the data, and you can check them using the "Details" button displayed in the search results (some may not be generated). In addition, a more specific KLM for identifying unobservable areas is currently being prepared and will be announced as soon as it is ready. On the other hand, for overseas areas, browsing images are not generated except for some limited data. KLM for confirming unobservable areas is being prepared as well as Japan region. When purchasing data for overseas regions outside Japan area, please be aware that the unobservable area may be included in any position in the data.

③ Other matters to be known about standard products
In addition to the occurrence of unobservable areas (blinds), JAXA has published several public information regarding the data. Please check the contents of the website at the following URL carefully before purchasing.
